Karen Bjerresø

Karen Bjerresø was the daughter of a teacher, graduated in history of literature, and works both as a teacher and author, travelling to many European countries. Her debut novel, Een lang Nat, was published when she was sixteen. It was followed by a novel about a dog, Max, 1941. The novel Men der kom ingen, 1945, and the sequel Ene mod mange, 1946, is a story about the efforts of a young woman dentist to become a mother and thereby lead a full life without a man. Karen Bjerresø later wrote a crime novel, Manden som ingen kendte, 1969.
