Aino Räsänen was a teacher, newspaper writer, and farmer’s wife. Her debut novel Soite minulle, Helena!, 1946, is one of the bestselling Finnish novels directed at women readers. Aino Räsänen wrote other works about Helena and her family.

Her central motif is often the moral conflicts through which the heroine passes as she develops into a woman. She combines topical women’s issues with traditional romantic intrigue.
