Niia Maria (since 1997 Niia Jemina Bloch) Mjetchinsky

Niia Maria Mjetchinsky was born in Gentofte, grew up in the neighbourhood of Christianshavn in Copenhagen, and made her literary debut with the poetry collection Glas gennem glas, 1994, a book that visually and sensually examines the theme of love and passion and their dual nature of desire and pain. The graphic patterns of the words and sentences on and through the transparent paper are subject to movement and shifting, just as the meaning and the interpretation are in constant flux and interrupted by the black and white snapshots of human bodies.
