Kirsten Jensdatter was married for the first time to Alderman Jens Kjær in Assens. From 1696, she was married to the clergyman Rasmus Pedersen Bruun, who died in 1713.
She wrote the hymn book Enkens Skærv i Templen, which was printed in 1718 and re-printed in 1724, 1730, and 1748. In the foreword, the author writes that she used to take up her quill to settle the household accounts, but will now take it up to settle more important accounts with God.
