Ellen-Sylvia Blind was of Sami origin, married to a reindeer owner and lived in Swedish Lapland. She was known primarily as a religious author and has published, among other works, Mu osku ja eallin / Min tro och mitt liv (P), 1981. In 1984, she published Sogas sohkii (M), which is about the importance of passing on the Sami culture and traditions to future generations. Several of her poems have been set to music.
