Annemette Kure Andersen

1962 -

Denmark

Annemette Kure Andersen was born in Ribe and holds a master’s degree in Italian and Danish, works as a critic and translator, and is a freelance publisher’s reader. In 1996, she succeeded Poul Borum as editor of the prestigious literary magazine Hvedekorn. Her debut poetry collection Dicentra spectabilis, 1991, was followed by Espalier (P), 1993, Tidehverv (P), 1996, and Epifanier (P), 1997. The collections contain suggestive, intricate, symbolist poems with references to nature. The poems communicate the almost indiscernible changes of mood in, and delicate fragility of, the relationships between people.
