Inger-Mari Aikio

Inger-Mari Aikio is of Sami origin and was born in Utsjoki. She studied at the University of Oulu and has worked with the Finnish Sami radio in Enare. She made her debut in 1988 with Gollebiekkat almmi dievva, which was followed by two more collections of poems. Silkeguobbara lákca, was published in 1995.

The above biography was first published in 1998. Since then, Inger-Mari Aikio has published a number of works, including the poetry collection Máilmmis dása, 2001, and the photography and poetry book Camera Poetica – Suonat, 2008, as well as several children’s books.
