Henrika Ringbom

1962 -

Finland

Henrika Ringbom grew up in an academic family in Helsinki, graduated from university, lives in Stockholm, and works as a writer and translator. She was editor of the periodical KLO from 1986 to 1987 and since her debut work Båge (P) has developed her writing with unusual consistency, producing remarkable works, although she has so far failed to gain the recognition of the literary critics. In Det jag har (P), 1990, and Det finns ingen annanstans (P), 1994, she strives not only to capture a voice, but to cleanse the language to free the poetry and restore its innocence.
