Suzanne Giese works as a cultural writer. As the author of one of the early controversial books of Rødstrømpebevægelsen (Danish Redstockings’ movement), Derfor kvindekamp of 1973, which, among other things, looks at the upbringing of a ‘male chauvinist’, she became influential in the feminist movement in the 1970s, describing its utopian visions and conflicts in her debut work of fiction På andre tanker (N), 1978, which largely deals with the clash between private life and political goals.
Brændende kærlighed (N), 1984, depicts the battle (of the sexes) in a complicated love affair, in which a young girl ends up in a conflict with a father and son in 1968, the year of rebellion. 1993 and 1994 saw the publication of her novels Forsvindingspunktet and Den tredje kvinde, about a woman breaking away from her marriage.
