Inga-Brita Ehrström trained as an actress at Julia Håkansson’s school in Stockholm, married the Finland-Swedish doctor Mons Chrisitian Ehrström in 1934, and had two children.

Her debut books Slocknad är elden, 1953, and Vid stranden av mitt hav, 1955, are about a journey to Greenland in the late 1940s and about her husband’s illness and death after their return to Finland. From 1960 to 1963, she was married to Nils Erik Gustaf Bruncrona. During a journey to South America, recounted in La Casita, 1965, her daughter committed suicide. The author herself died the following year in Spain.
