Margit Amalia Palmaer was the daughter of a professor in Uppsala and married assistant curator Bertil Waldén in Örebro. Her successful debut with the novel Studentska, 1927, in which the central figure is a highly educated modern-day woman, is followed up thematically by Marianne Tegern, 1931, and Mot en ny kärlek, 1933, and again in Nutidskvinnan i närbild, 1937, and Vi nutidskvinnor, 1939. As well as novels, short stories, and dramas, she also wrote the travel book Sovjetryska scenerier, 1928.
