Hanne Irgens

Hanne Irgens was the daughter of a bankrupt plumber in Copenhagen, was a principal in Næstved from 1815 to 1845, and wrote for periodicals. She made her debut with the Gothic novel Familien von Heidenforsth 1-3, 1820-1822, and subsequently published the poetry collection Orfania, 1822, and the comedy Moses i Tønden, 1822. In addition to three short story collections, two longer tales Maren, Hersilia og Theckla, 1837, and De Holmer, 1838, were also published in the 1830s.
