Eva Jensen was born in Salangen and lives in Tromsø with her partner and one child. She has worked in a variety of jobs, including at a car garage, hospital, and library, and attended a writing course in Bø in Telemark.
Eva Jensen made her debut with Dikt og tekstar, 1984, experiments with genres and forms, and writes without regard to other literature or special language. Teori nok for eit kort liv, “novel-novel” of 1987, has a metatextual perspective, and Ingen smertebutikk lenger. Ein skeiv ballade, 1991, is akin to parody in its ironic, comic presentation. In this way, Eva Jensen’s approach often involves fragmented form, irony, style, and humour. She has also written children’s books and short prose. Den rolege gule hunden med brillene (N) is from 1994.
