Inghilda Tapio studied at Umeå University and worked as a teacher and actress at the Dalvadis Sami theatre. She lives in Karesuando in northern Sweden and has three children.
Prior to her first poetry collection Ii fal dan dihte, 1995, she published three children’s books as well as poems in different periodicals.
