Lene Louise Nielsen grew up in Damhus near Ribe, attended the academy of fine arts in Sønderborg, and made her debut as an artist in Tistrup at the artists’ summer exhibition.
Her literary debut was the poetry collection Brikker – umalede billeder, 1994, consisting of mosaic-like poems, which express the wish to preserve life’s fleeting moments and an almost unspeakable yearning. She subsequently published six short stories in the periodical Bananasplit, nos. 12-13, 1997.
