Anne-Marie Berglund was born in Helsinki, passed the upper secondary school leaving examination in 1972, and is a professional author, artist, and freelance writer. She lost her husband in 1986.

After publication of her debut poems Luftberusningen, Anna Marie Berglund published several poetry collections, the novel Dansa min flicka, 1989, and the short story collections En ödets gunstling, 1980, Dam med dåligt rykte på sin vanliga runda, 1991, and Raserier, 1994. Her short stories, often dealing with identity problems and eroticism, have provoked quite a reaction from the critics. Episoderna. 33 reseminiatyrer was published in 1997.

The above biography was first published in 1998. Since then, Anne-Marie Berglund has written the poetry collection Jag vill stå träd nu, 2000, the novel Dagen då jag tog ledigt från romanen, 2002, and Breven till mamma, 2005.

She is the recipient of a number of literature prizes, including Svenska Dagbladets Litteraturpris.
