Inger Haldis Halvari comes from Polmak in Tana near the Finnish border, is married, and has four children. She is primarily a writer of children’s books, but has also published short stories on fundamental aspects of life such as birth and death, for example in her debut book Dalle go áddjá jámii, 1982, which depicts a young girl mourning her deceased grandfather and coming to terms with her sorrow and loss.
