Norway

Inger Margrethe Olsen was born in Varanger, Norway, and now lives at the heart of Sami country, in Guovdageaidnu-Kautokeino, where she has been employed as a dramatist by the Beaivvás Sami theatre. She works as a teacher at the Sami secondary school in Kautokeino, but has also worked as a journalist.

Her theatre plays, including Skoavdnji and the musical Eatalagan, deal with subjects such as incest and homosexuality that are rarely talked about in small, closed societies like that of the Sami.
