Tove Lie

1942 - 2000

Norway

Tove Lie was born in Oslo, made her debut in 1967 with Øyeblikk, (P), and issued several poetry collections, which from a Romantic standpoint borrow inspiration from mythology, religion, music, and literature, in contrast to the focus on material things of 1960s modernism. In her poetry collection Rullesteiner samler ikke mose, 1985, which describes objects of technological advance such as cranes and electricity pylons, she expresses at once a dynamic image of reality and a wondrous ambivalence. Her other works are Dikt i utvalg, 1988, and Amor fati, 1997.
