Björklund, Ingeborg

Written by:  Ebba Witt-Brattström

Ingeborg Björklund was the daughter of a civil engineer in Gothenburg. She studied in Lund and qualified as a teacher in 1924. From 1926 to 1931, she was married to the author and socialist Arnold Ljungdal.

Ingeborg Björklund wrote love poems and novels on feminist and social issues and later on historical works. She has also published books on social issues, such as Hur blir kvinnorna lyckliga? of 1932. She made her debut in 1926 with En kvinna å väg and caused a scandal with her frankly erotic trilogy about a young woman’s development, Våren, 1930, Månen över Lund, 1931, and Han som sjöng, 1935.
