Kjersti Scheen was born in Oslo and trained at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Her strong social commitment made her into an active, all-round journalist in the course of ten years. She has illustrated her own and the books of others since 1964 and made her debut as a children’s book writer with the picture book Fie og mørket, 1976, and as an adult fiction writer in 1986 with her work Vårmåne. She has written two detective novels, Teppefall, 1994, and Ingen applaus for morderen, 1996.
