Carolina von Platen was married to Lieutenant F. A. von Platen and made her debut with the novel Evelina Reder. Också en tafla ur lifvet, 1861, which was her contribution to the debate surrounding the work Det går an (Eng. tr. Sara Videbeck and the Chapel) by C. J. L. Almqvist, which portrays how women who break with the prevailing system of norms are labelled “fallen women”. In 1861 she published the comedy Ett frieri i Vestergöthland and the novel Tip Floribus under the pen names “Dora Flink” and “Thure Flink”.
